As a Vice President of Human Resources (HR), you will carry out our mission to improve the experience of aging together by providing executive-level leadership and guidance and serves as a strategic partner to leadership. The Vice President is responsible for setting, enforcing, and evaluating appropriate human resources policies, procedures, and best practices, and identifying and implementing long-range strategic human resources goals, including talent management goals. This role provides leadership for all aspects of HR programs, operations, and activities. This role helps lead the organization's efforts in recruitment and retention and supports Keswick's culture and strategic initiatives organization wide. This is an on-site position.

What will I do as a Vice President of HR?

  • Supports the overall strategic direction by driving impactful HR initiatives to support business objectives. Proactively brings HR issues, implications, and ideas to leadership as necessary, and serves as a key strategic business partner to the CEO and other senior management.
  • Through proper selection, placement, evaluation, and training of employees, in cooperation with leadership, ensures that the organization benefits from the key competencies and specific abilities needed in an ever-changing work environment.
  • Supports and develops employees within the HR functions of recruitment, benefits and compensation and employee relations, and manages related contracted services.
  • Develops and directs talent acquisition strategies, programs, and processes including management of any contracted resources. Evaluates effectiveness of recruiting processes and modifies as needed. Also evaluates talent turnover for root causes and develops strategies to minimize unwanted turnover.
  • Leads the evaluation, development, and implementation of compensation and benefit plans that are competitive in the market and cost effective, as well as in compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
  • Leads the evaluation, development and implementation of performance appraisal and employee incentive programs.
  • Fosters and builds relationships while impacting employee and labor relations strategies and objectives while promoting organizational practices that foster recognition of the value of individual and collective employee contributions.
  • Provides leadership and expertise in the areas of organization design and effectiveness, change management practices, and employee engagement.
  • Leads the execution of HR programs in the respective business units, providing a point of view on organizational and leadership gaps. Provides consultation and coaching to business leaders and employees to help drive business goals and foster positive employee relations.
  • Engages supervisors, managers and leaders across various levels and departments in performance management issues, leadership succession strategies and selection, organizational effectiveness, and employee growth and leadership development.
  • Develops and implements policies and practices that ensure understanding and fosters performance that contribute to organizational success
  • Ensures compliance with employment, benefits, insurance, safety, and other laws, regulations, and requirements.
  • Maintains knowledge of laws, regulations, and best practices in employment law, human resources, and talent management.

What is required in this position?

  • A Master's degree with a concentration in Business, HR, organizational or workforce development is preferred.
  • A Bachelor's degree in HR or related field is required.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of HR management or related management experience, five (5) of which must be in leadership Director or above role.
  • Healthcare experience is strongly preferred.
  • Senior living, post-acute or long-term care experience is preferred.
  • Experience in a unionized setting is preferred.
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred.
