As a Laundry Technician, you will carry out our mission to improve the experience of aging together by performing daily laundry services to provide an adequate supply of linen to meet the needs of the residents/patients in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations.
What will I do as a Laundry Technician?
- Collect residents' soiled personal clothing from Baker residents' rooms; collect long-term care residents personal clothing from nursing units. Collect house linens from nursing units and dining rooms to avoid soiled linen buildup. Transport laundry containers to Laundry.
- Sort and weigh laundry. Load soiled linen into washers. Load clean, wet linens into dryers. Operate commercial washing machines and dryers.
- Fold clean, dry linen. Make up carts of linens for delivery.
- Wash, dry and fold personal clothing. Press personal clothing as needed. Add name labels to new personal items.
- Return clean linens and personal items to nursing units and resident/patient rooms to avoid clean linen shortages. Deliver incontinent products to nursing units, Adult Day and resident/patient rooms.
- Maintain laundry areas in a neat, orderly and safe manner. Maintain equipment.
- Perform other duties as assigned, including checking stock and notifying supervisor of supply needs.
What is required in this position?
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Six months' experience in a healthcare facility preferred.
